The Whole Nine Yards is an example of a "5.1 to 5.1" master. The movie was originally mixed for 5.1 surround, then benefitted from the FDS Labs process for mastering. Reviewer Guido Henkel noted that the movie has a "wide soundstage that makes good and sometimes aggressive use of the surrounds." The low end also benefits from FDS processing. Henkel wrote, "With a good bass extension, the track sounds very modern and has lots of punch in the bottom end." |
