Diabolique is an example of a movie mixed for two channel, then processed with the FDS system to extract a discrete 5.1 surround. In his review for www.dvdangle.com, Matthew Millheiser noted that "...the audio sounds excellent." He wrties that the audio "...really brings the movie to life." This quality of sound is due to the advanced processing that the FDS Labs system employs.

Millheiser describes the intimacy that FDS surrounds you with in a film. He noticed that the "Background music... is quite immersive." Ambient noise really envelops you as you listen to the disc." The center channel is information is crucial in the delivery of a movie's dialogue. Millheiser described this aspect, saying that "the dialog comes through bright and clean." FDS Labs adds this clarity to the voices in a film. Overall, Millheiser says he "...was left very impressed by the audio on this disc."
