In his review of The Chill Factor for www.dvdangle.com, Rick Babcock found out just what kind of impact FDS Labs processing can have on a film's sound. Rick commented, "WOW! I was amazed at the sound quality of this DVD!", and "There aren't enough superlatives to mention at how good this disc sounds. I was blown away by the overall quality..." Babcock also noted that "the voices are centered....and are mastered well about the driving, pulsating soundtrack..." The Chill Factor takes advantage of FDS Labs "5.1 plus 5" processing, resulting in a seamless surround in the sound field. Babcock was hearing this effect when
he stated that "There are times when you are engulfed in the sound...The choppers sound as if they are right on top of you, as you can hear sound coming from
all of your speakers." The sense of realism and clarity FDS Labs gives a film is why Babcock noticed that "The explosions are very realistic and the bullets fly from left to right
and from back to front." |
